Wendy Cope

I endorse Wendy Cope for seat 2 of the new South District. She is a gifted teacher of our children and understands the issues that will have to be dealt with in building the new school district. My daughter will always remember the kindness she showed to students and I am confident she will care for the teachers and students in the new school district.

Wendy Cope was my fourth grade teacher. Her class was very memorable because she knew how to work with kids by making learning fun using lots of hands-on projects. We built weather instruments, made volcanoes, and other creative projects that started my love for science, which I'm now studying in college. In our fun art projects, she never expected perfection, but always encouraged creativity. She really cared about each of us, and gave us space to share our thoughts--she had two containers where we could write down anonymous compliments or concerns, and we'd all sit in a circle to read and talk about them. She'd be awesome on the school board because she cares about students and their education. She made a real impact on my learning and I'm so grateful for that.
